Seamless Duty and Tax Payments for EVRi

EVRi provides delivery and collection services, for small and medium-sized enterprises and members of the public via doorstep collection. The company is now the biggest dedicated parcel delivery company in the UK offering 7-day delivery solutions for anyone who wants to send a parcel. EVRi works alongside 80% of the UK’s top retail brands and in cross-border received £9M in 2021 to expand their cross-border offer.

The challenge

Cross-border parcel deliveries come with complex requirements...

Ensuring customs duties and VAT are paid where responsibility falls on senders, carriers, and recipients to guarantee payments or parcels risk being returned to the sender. Logistics companies cannot manage funds directly due to financial regulations. Incoming and outgoing payments across various sources and currencies are difficult to manage efficiently.

Breaking barriers with Plusius

To solve these challenges, EVRi partnered with Plusius to implement an innovative payment solution:

  • A dedicated portal for private individuals, simplifying the payment of customs duties and VAT at checkout.
  • Direct integration with customs systems to verify payment status and ensure compliance with local tax authorities.
  • Multi-currency global payment flows for settlement across EU Tax Agencies and UK for IOSS Tax Payments.
  • Secure and compliant fund flow management, ensuring payments are settled directly with the appropriate tax agencies.

Why it matters?

  • Risk Mitigation: For IOSS intermediaries, customs declarants, and fiscal representatives.
  • Global Settlements: Instant payments using pre-funded accounts with collateral.
  • Sustainability: Fewer returns lead to a reduced carbon footprint, benefiting the environment.
